“A community is too heavy for anyone to carry alone” - Deuteronomy Rabbah

The Jewish Community Alliance is the cornerstone of Jewish Life in Jacksonville. It serves as the common meeting ground for the entire Jewish community to experience exceptional educational and cultural programs, recreational activities and after-school care. In addition, it is the home to one of the finest preschools and summer camps in the area.

As it continues to flourish, the JCA reaches out to the greater Jacksonville Community, fulfilling its mission well beyond the founder’s expectations. Each day, hundreds of people walk through the doors of the JCA to enhance mind, body and spirit in the tradition of our heritage while they improve the quality of their lives. For many people, the support and connections to the JCA are lifelines. The JCA is a well-managed and fiscally sound agency that relies on your support and generosity to ensure that its important work continues.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill

Here are ways you can support the JCA:

Tribute Cards (click here to submit a tribute online)

Tribute Cards are a wonderful way to memorialize, honor or commemorate an occasion. When a tribute card is purchased, the JCA will send a personalized acknowledgement to the recipient and donor as well publicize the contribution in the monthly Alliance News.

Special Value
The JCA is pleased to offer a special value to take care of all your tribute needs. For an annual contribution of $200, you may make tributes as often as you wish.

Following are the JCA’s Annual Tribute Funds:

Cultural Arts Fund
Contributions support the concert season, lectures, JCA Film Series and special programs.

Senior Adult Fund
Provides supplemental funds for educational, recreational and social programs developed to help seniors retain their independence.

Vandroff Art Gallery Fund
Contributions enable us to bring in exhibits from local and national artists as well as maintain the art gallery area.

Teacher Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for educational development of staff.

The William & Andrew Block Families Gan Yeladim Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarship assistance to children from all income levels to benefit from award-winning early childhood education and childcare.

Youth Services Fund
Provides scholarships for after-school programs and elementary school childcare.

Theatre Fund
Contributions to this fund help purchase equipment and sets for the Theatre of Youth Program as well as offset the cost of providing theatre productions “with a message” to low/moderate income children.

Physical Education/Maccabi Fund
The donations collected for this fund make it possible for deserving teenage athletes with financial needs to participate in the JCC Maccabi games. Donations may also help offset the costs to purchase physical education equipment for preschool-age children.

Summer Camp
Provides scholarship assistance to children in the community who are not otherwise able to attend camp.

General Fund
Provides for the full range of programs and services that the JCA offers to our members and the community.

Endowment Funds

Endowment funds help to perpetuate the gift of giving. These funds may be named in honor or in memory of an individual or family. The principal is permanently restricted and only the income generated is available to ensure the JCA’s ability to provide vital programs and services today and in the future. Named endowments will enable programs and donors name to exist in perpetuity.

For more information about establishing an Endowment Fund, please contact Myron Flagler at (904) 730-2100 ext. 246.
