Barre Pilates Barre Pilates is a program that combines the strengthening and control principles of Pilates and Yoga with the grace and movement of dance using a ballet barre. It’s the newest hot addition to the fitness world. In an effort to provide cross training in seeking better results for our clients we are incorporating ballet elements and music into the sessions in order to offer challenges in coordination, rhythm, and cardiovascular fitness, tone tighten up and tone up! It’s music-motivated, high-energy class, it’s all about having fun with your workout and mixing it up!

Summer Sizzler (HIIT) High Intensity Interval Training This power-packed workout is designed to get rid of flab and sculpt shapely muscle from head to toe and is suitable for the intermediate to advanced fitness level. Come Swing with Me! (Kettlebell Training) Experience the Kettlebell in a small group training with 3-5 members and a trainer. The fitness mission is to promote health and wellness within the JCA family and general community by providing state of the art exercise equipment in a clean and friendly environment, professional and certified staff to provide advice, motivation and guidance, programming and special events to serve the JCA family and general community and an environment where members and guests feel welcome and want to return again and again.
The JCA’s 4,500-square-foot Fitness Center features 100 pieces of strength and cardiovascular equipment. Featuring Cybex treadmills, Arc Trainers, and steppers, PreCor ellipticals, and Star Trac bikes on the cardio deck. Center floor is a full line of Technogym selectorized machines, a PreCor free standing cable station, and two Free Motion cable stations to help you increase your strength. Along the circumference of the room are a variety of weight benches, free weight rack, squat/bench racks and small apparatus. Need help getting started?
We do not expect anyone to walk in and know how to use every piece of equipment, so as part of your membership, we include a FREE orientation session with a personal trainer. The orientation session is designed to teach you how to use and set up each machine; teach you proper weight lifting form & technique; and "orient" you to the gym so that "all those machines" are less intimidating. To set up your orientation session simply stop by Membership or call the fitness center at ext. 255.
Personal Training is a great way to jump start your way back into shape, a continuous way to stay motivated, and helpful to anyone needing a personal workout plan. Look at our personal training page for more information on rates, or call Ali Helms, fitness director, at ext. 324.
We have a state of the art Personal Training Studio for exclusive use by JCA Personal Trainers and their clients. The studio is an intimate environment with small fitness apparatus such as Kettlebells, BOSUs, Body Bars, Ballast Balls, Plyo Boxes, a Ballet Barre, cushioned floors, a low physical therapy table, and mirrors. The Studio also houses our Polar Body Age Assessment Bike and Computer for the trainers to assess their clients and help them set their fitness goals.
Pilates Reformer Training is offered as a specialized personal training at the JCA with our Pilates Reformer staff of Glenn Morgan, Gisela Morgan, Shirley Steel, and Cheryl Forehand. Nutrition Counseling is offered by Helen Sollee, our Registered Dietician, who is here to help you with weight loss, nutrition guidance, or specialized nutrition needs. Call ext. 255 and leave a message for Helen in the fitness center or purchase a session with her today.
Our Group Fitness Program features over 50 FREE classes each week of all the popular styles that our members enjoy. Everything from Zumba, Kickboxing, and Cycling to Yoga, Pilates, Body Sculpt/Pump, and of course Aqua! Sit and Get Fit (SGF) is a comprehensive fitness program for our senior members. These classes are offered Monday – Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Mature Adult Lounge in Meeting Room C.
