Michele Block Gan Yeladim Preschool
New Classrooms, New Playgrounds, New Resource Center, New Programs!
We have so many things that are new and exciting! Our three new spacious, modern and beautiful classrooms are up and running. The brand-new courtyard playground has climbing equipment, Lexan panels for painting, a children’s music area, a toddler-size garden, a huge sand area and separate play areas for younger and older children. The equipment is manufactured from recycled materials. The six-week project replaced 16-year-old playground equipment.
The new classrooms are specifically designed with preschoolers in mind and have counters and sinks just the right size for little hands to reach safely. The new wing includes a spacious hallway with a 20-foot-high exposed ceiling with natural skylights so students can see and understand how utilities like electricity, water and cool air get to the new classrooms. The area also includes a fully functional kitchen with all the new appliances you would find in a typical home.
Each classroom opens up onto one of our new and innovative outdoor play spaces:
• Outdoor art center for painting and chalk.
• Figure eight bike path with slotted bridge, gas station, play house,
stationary car, and storage shed.
• Climbing and sliding structure with rock wall.
• Music center with an Amadinda, steel drum and bongos.
• Movable parts building area – large plastic blocks, bridges and steering blocks.
• Water play – water pump, tri-directional trough system and water table.
• Sandy beach with a chalet and kayak for imaginative play.
